Summer 2026: dogs banned from set areas of Skegness beach from 1 May to 30 September (roughly the lifeboat house on Tower Esplanade to the skate park at the end of North Parade), and on a lead on the promenade there. Ingoldmells is not in the seasonal ban. Rules can change each year, so check the signs.
LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
- Skegness has a Blue Flag beach, and at low tide a large area of smooth sand is uncovered.
- Fantasy Island, Ingoldmells: rollercoasters and an indoor market. Bus 1 from Skegness Bus Station takes 10 to 15 minutes and stops outside.
- Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve, on the edge of Skegness: dunes, salt marsh, birds and a visitor centre with refreshments.
- Rainy day: ten-pin bowling on Skegness Pier, or Natureland Seal Sanctuary (check opening times).
- Train: direct trains to Skegness from Nottingham, Grantham, Sleaford and Boston.
- Eat: fresh doughnuts and chips on the promenade.
