No seasonal dog ban was found for Berwick or Spittal beaches in 2026. Keep dogs under control and check signs on arrival. Rules can change each year, so check the signs.

• Walk the Elizabethan town walls and the banks of the River Tweed.
• Spittal beach, across the river: sand, a play park, a summer splash park, a promenade café and free beach wheelchairs.
• Cocklawburn beach is good for rock pooling with children.
• Rainy day: the Town Hall Cell Block Museum, the Granary Gallery, or the cinema at The Maltings.
• Berwick Boat Trips run on the Border Belle, under the Royal Border Bridge. Seals and dolphins are often seen.
• Train: Berwick station is close to the town centre, on the East Coast Main Line to Newcastle and Edinburgh.
• Market on Marygate, Wednesdays and Saturdays, 9am to 4pm.
