10 THINGS TO KNOW

1. Privately owned Butlin’s caravans. 13 caravans on Butlin’s resorts are listed on Static Stays, at Butlin's Skegness Caravan Village (8) and Butlin's Lakeside Caravan Village, Minehead (5). You book direct with the owner, not with Butlin’s.
2. Weekly prices from £245. From £245 to £1,270 a week, depending on the season.
3. Wristbands at Butlin's Skegness Caravan Village. Caravan guests are issued wristbands at check-in, which must be worn at all times to get into the resort and its venues; replacement wristbands are charged. Check with the owner whether resort access is included.
4. When Butlin's Skegness Caravan Village is open. March to late November.
5. Dogs at Butlin's Skegness Caravan Village. Owners may bring dogs to the Caravan Village if arranged in advance, but dogs are kept on a lead, restricted to the Caravan Village and not allowed on the main resort; Butlin's says holiday guests' dogs are not allowed.
6. The beach at Butlin's Skegness Caravan Village. Ingoldmells beach is directly across the road from the resort.
7. Wristbands at Butlin's Lakeside Caravan Village, Minehead. Owners receive 10 photo ID passes covering the resort, which they share with family and friends; letting listings say renting guests may need to buy Butlin's passes separately. Guests must wear the wristband issued at check-in to enter the resort.
8. When Butlin's Lakeside Caravan Village, Minehead is open. 1 March to 31 December, plus 1 and 2 January.
9. Dogs at Butlin's Lakeside Caravan Village, Minehead. Dogs are allowed in the caravan village by prior arrangement, on a lead, but not on the main resort; some breeds are banned.
10. The beach at Butlin's Lakeside Caravan Village, Minehead. The resort sits beside Minehead's sandy beach, with nearly a mile of beach on the doorstep.
