AROUND POLPERRO
- Polperro Beach: a tiny, very tidal cove by the harbour, covered at high tide.
- Talland Bay: two small beaches a coast path walk away, with a café, good for rock pooling.
- A small beach outside the harbour, mostly shingle at low tide, and a tidal pool below Chapel Cliff.
- Walk a mile east on the South West Coast Path to Talland Bay for beaches and rock pools, then on to Looe. The path west is hilly, with many steps.
- Rainy day: the Smuggling Museum, and several galleries.
- The only car park is at the top of the village, a 15 to 20 minute walk from the harbour.
- Train: the nearest station is Looe, five miles away, on the branch line from Liskeard. Buses run from Looe, Liskeard and Plymouth.
- Shops sell local crafts and sweets made in the area.
Dogs on the beach, 2026 season: No Polperro-area beach is on Cornwall Council's 2026 restricted list. Privately owned beaches can set their own rules. Talland Bay is dog-friendly.
