AROUND PERRANPORTH

  • Perranporth Beach: a long stretch of soft sand backed by dunes, lifeguards daily May to September.
  • The main beach has more than two miles of sand, with rock pools, caves and a seawater pool built into Chapel Rock.
  • Lifeguards patrol daily from May to September.
  • Walk into the dunes to find the ruins of the 6th-century oratory, the lost church.
  • Rainy day: Perranzabuloe Museum, just off the high street, covers mining, fishing and surfing.
  • Train: Truro is the nearest main line station, with a bus on to Perranporth.

Dogs on the beach, 2026 season: Summer 2026: dogs allowed all year. In July and August they must be on a lead from 10am to 5pm on the main beach, and can be off the lead in the dunes and beyond the flat rocks.
