DOGS ON THE BEACH: 2026 SEASON

Conwy Council's beach dog pages set no separate zone for Towyn beach itself, so check signs locally. Next door, Kinmel Bay requires dogs on a lead between St Asaph Avenue car park and Woodside Avenue from 1 May to 30 September, and Pensarn bans dogs between the low water mark and the promenade over the same dates. From 1 October to 30 April dogs can go anywhere on both. Rules can change each year, so check the signs.

LOCAL KNOWLEDGE

• Tir Prince Leisure Park hosts American-style harness racing, a funfair and what is billed as North Wales's biggest outdoor weekly market.
• Knightley's Fun Park has rides and shows through the season; the seafront has arcades and amusements.
• Walk: the Kinmel Dunes Trail is a 1 mile circuit, 20 to 30 minutes' walk east of Towyn along the promenade.
• National Cycle Network Route 5 follows the seafront west to Pensarn and east to Kinmel Bay and Rhyl.
• Train: Abergele and Pensarn station is the nearest, a short trip west.
• Eat: cafés and takeaways along the seafront and at Tir Prince.
